Kellie M. Blair, Esq. is a founding Member of Matta Blair, PLC. Along with Steve Matta, she established the firm in April, 2009. She concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, commercial and bankruptcy litigation, including matters involving: title insurance defense, lender liability, errors & omissions defense, municipal liability defense, condemnation, zoning, professional liability defense, directors & officers liability defense, entity formation, business and asset sales, contract disputes, construction litigation, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy and general business and real estate law.

Ms. Blair has represented numerous municipalities and townships, banks, title insurers and agencies, private buyers and sellers of real property and businesses, as well as many developers, builders, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, appraisers, real estate brokers and agents, in both transactions and litigation. She has published articles in Michigan Lawyers Weekly and the Michigan Business Law Journal. She has tried jury and non-jury trials in the Michigan state, federal and bankruptcy courts.

Prior to founding Matta Blair, PLC, Ms. Blair was a shareholder with Garan Lucow Miller, PC, where she practiced from 2003 to 2009 and concentrated her practice in real estate, bankruptcy and lending litigation. She was promoted to shareholder status two years after joining the firm. She has practiced in virtually all the state and appellate courts in Michigan, as well as the Eastern and Western U.S District Courts of Michigan, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern and Western US District Bankruptcy Courts. She graduated from Oakland University in 1995 and from the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Law in 1998. She was a participant in the London Law Program with the University of Detroit Mercy in 1996. While in London, she clerked for Goldsmith Chambers and assisted barristers in the preparation of their cases. She was the Associate Editor of the Michigan Business Law Journal while attending the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1998 and is a member of the Real Property Law Section and Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Ms. Blair is committed to the community and has been involved in many volunteer organizations in the Metro Detroit area, such as Rainbow Connection. She is not only a member and donor to the Detroit Zoo, but also volunteers as a Docent, having completed six months of training regarding animal education. She currently fulfills a requirement of 75 hours of service every year. She is also an avid mountain biker, skier, runner and photographer.
